What We Believe

We BELIEVE In:

GOD  -  We Believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe existing in the form of 3 persons - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Recognizing Him as being Omniscient (All-Knowing), Omnipresent (existing everywhere at once) and Omnipotent (All-Powerful)

Father - We Believe the Father expresses the Mind of GOD and speaks through The Son and

The Holy Spirit.

Son - Jesus Christ  - We Believe that Jesus Christ was Fully GOD and Fully Man. He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life sacrificing Himself on a Cross to pay for the sins of man and restore man’s relationship to GOD. He was buried and rose 3 days later (just as He said He would). After 40 days of walking the face of the Earth He ascended again to Heaven and is alive and sitting at the right hand of The Father interceding for His flock of believer’s.

Holy Spirit - is in the world as a gift from The Father to glorify and reveal The Son. He is an indwelling spirit in the lives of all Believer’s and is here to express the power and will of GOD imparting the gifts of GOD to all Believer’s.

Holy Bible - We Believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant and the authoritative Word of GOD to all mankind for all time.

Salvation - We Believe that we are saved by Grace through Faith. Jesus said, “For My Father’s will is that everyone that looks to the Son and Believes in Him shall have eternal life.” (John 6:40) and Paul said “If you declare with your mouth “that Jesus is Lord” and believe in Your heart that God raised Him from the dead then you will be saved.”

SACRAMENTS

Baptism - We Believe that just as Jesus was full water immersed by John The Baptist that all who come to accept Jesus as Lord would also be immersed as a symbolic ordinance of acceptance of Jesus as Savior.

Communion (Lord’s Supper) - We Believe that, as Jesus showed us through His final Passover meal, the breaking and taking of bread are symbolic of the breaking of His body and the drink of wine He offered to the Disciples was an example of His blood that was shed on the Cross. He did this to demonstrate the forgiveness of sin through His death on the Cross. Jesus felt the practice of sharing the bread and wine was so important that He said,  “As often as you come together, do this in remembrance of me.” At Timberline we typically share Communion on the first Sunday of the month.

Church - We Believe that the Church is the Body and Bride of Christ and He will return to claim it as His own. The church is comprised of All Believers throughout the world. Timberline Family is an independent congregation of those Believers.

Stewardship - We Believe that God is the source of All Blessings. Everything, including life itself, comes from Him. God has entrusted mankind to rule responsibly over His Creation. Therefore, we are to share our time, talents and material possessions to advance His Kingdom on Earth.

End Times (2nd Coming) - We Believe that Christ will return to claim His Church back to Himself. The time for this to happen is known only by the Father and no one else knows. There will be a tribulation when all Believers will be “called up to meet Jesus in the air.” After which Jesus will reign over the Earth for a period of 1000 years. Then Satan will be released for the final battle in which he will be defeated and cast into the lake of fire never to return to cause his havoc upon the Earth. All people will be judged to spend eternity with Christ as Believers or to spend eternity in hell as a rejection of faith in Christ.
